Courses for schools

Primary School Courses

Puppetry is an artform that encompasses all other artforms and can help young

people develop their creativity, dexterity, oracy, literacy and decision-making abilities.

PPN workshops can be tailored to fit in with your curriculum so let us know what your

students are learning about at the moment, and we will ensure the workshop meets

your learning outcomes! Our workshops also make a great end of term activity for

your school as they are fun and memorable. PPN provides all the materials required

for making basic puppets from paper and our courses and workshops can range

from an hour to a whole day.

All of our workshops are completely designed around your requirements so the best

thing is to email us with your class numbers, age group and budget and we can help

arrange the most appropriate puppetry workshop for your school.

Some of our more popular courses include:

Giant Paper Puppets

Participants make a simple large-scale puppet that needs to be animated by groups

of puppeteers working together. Participants learn to make it move in a realistic way

and then work to create a story or a dance routine using the puppet.

Basic Puppetry

PPN brings a range of puppets for your young people to work with. The course

develops diffident puppetry skills including enabling your puppet to breath,

establishing good puppet eye contact and eye movements. Once mastered

participants move on to work with full and half bodied puppets. Basic lip syncing and

movement is worked on to develop a short end of workshop performance.

Puppet Story Telling

Using a range of PPN’s puppets participants are taught basic puppetry skills and

then work in groups to make stories on themes linked to your current curricular

project.

Secondary School Courses

decision-making abilities. It can also contribute to drama examination requirements.
